Congratulations to Peter Laing, Operational Director from the Driver Trett Oman office who was awarded the exceptional performance award from Outward Bound Oman in recognition of his performance as Project Manager and Cost Consultant on the Outward Bound Muscat Head Office Project.
Outward Bound Oman (OBO) is an educational, not for profit foundation which uses the mountains and deserts of Oman, to help develop people from all walks of life, to become more confident, more effective and more capable at school, college and in the workplace.
As part of their 10 year anniversary celebrations, OBO awarded Peter with the exceptional performance award in recognition of his work as Project Manager and Cost Consultant on OBO’s Head Office Project.
Driver Trett were engaged 2 years ago as Project Manager and Cost Consultants on the Outward Bound Muscat Head Office project and have subsequently been awarded the third Outward Bound Oman training centre on top of the Jebel Akhtar mountains in Oman.
Thanks to Peter’s hard work and dedication, the Muscat Head Office project is nearing completion, but the project was not without its challenges when part way through construction the original contractor went into liquidation.
Peter set to work immediately, quickly engaging a new contractor with very little cost increase and time delay to OBO. In recognition of Peter’s speedy and efficient resolution of this problem and the overall way he managed the project, overcoming various other challenges along the way, OBO decided to honour him with the award.
Pictured is Peter being presented the award by His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, Patron of Outward Bound Oman.
Peter said after the event that the award was “a complete surprise, but highly appreciated”.
