Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in claims management and dispute resolution to join our team in Bristol.
Primary duties:
- Detailed analysis of documents relating to costing, claims, and any other relevant information required to analyse information provided on major disputes
- Support delivery of commission services in line with client briefs.
- Actively contribute to the development and delivery of a full range of claims services across a wide client base.
- Assist with the preparation of expert reports for formal dispute resolution proceedings.
Desired Skills and Experience
- At least 10 years’ experience working in the construction industry – either building or civil engineering or both and possibly a couple of years working with a leading consultancy firm.
- Experience in preparing and defending claims.
- Experience in dispute resolution, for example, adjudication and mediation.
- Experience in assisting quantum experts.
- Experience of business development, marketing, networking etc.
- Willingness to travel in the UK and possibly overseas.
- Must hold a BSc degree in a related discipline (Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management) and preferably hold some form of legal qualification, for example, MSc in Construction Law or Post Graduate Diploma in Arbitration.
