Frances Hale is an energy and process engineer specialising in the power and renewable energy sectors. She has over 10 years’ experience in regulatory and consultancy roles.
Frances has been with Diales for over five years and during that time she has gained experience of forensic engineering in insurance, arbitration, and investment disputes. Most recently she has been appointed as the expert in two bioenergy disputes. She has also given advice and assisted experts on a number of major energy and environmental disputes including disputes concerning two major energy from waste plants in the UK and two windfarms in Ireland.
Prior to joining Diales, Frances spent seven years working as a technical consultant for a global engineering consultancy. She worked in a team specialising in the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of heat networks and energy centres (including heat pumps, CHP units, boilers, heat exchangers, etc). Frances is experienced in conceptual design, performance specification, site supervision, and commissioning.
Frances has also worked as a technical manager at Ofgem, where she was the technical lead for energy from waste and large-scale biomass installations as well as the introduction of biomass sustainability requirements.
