James is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, with over 25 years of experience in the construction and engineering industry. Over the last eight years, he has focused on expert commissions, developing experience as lead assistant to the Quantum Expert on large scale high value disputes of multi-billion-dollar value, and increasingly receiving direct quantum expert appointments. Bringing insight from certification as an Expert Determiner, he is frequently engaged in consulting expert and early expert roles.
His experience spans a diverse range of projects, including the construction of hotels, hospitals, hi-tech laboratories and theme parks, as well as major projects in transport and infrastructure, tunnelling, marine works, LNG processing plants, and heavy engineering with values extending into the billions of dollars. James has advised both clients and contractors in high-pressure project environments, providing expertise in live project administration, contract application, dispute avoidance, alternate and formal dispute resolution processes, and independent expert analysis.
