Jaswinder is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with over 35 years’ experience in the process plant design and construction industry. His considerable expertise extends across several sectors.
Jaswinder has worked with other expert witnesses and legal teams on large international multidisciplinary cases and he has been formally instructed to provide a CPR Part 35 compliant expert report. His experience includes completing root cause analysis and defect investigation and identification. He is experienced in arbitration, adjudication and formal litigation, where he has provided detailed technical inputs and reports, either as the instructed expert or as an expert assistant.
Jaswinder has led multi-disciplinary teams in plant engineering, pre-commissioning, commissioning, control and safety systems, and has simultaneously managed diverse and interrelated plant projects; including all safety aspects and specifications, to meet client and regulatory safety requirements.
In his engineering and project management roles Jaswinder has led teams undertaking process equipment factory, and site acceptance testing, as well as troubleshooting problems on operating plants. He has undertaken many projects which handle hazardous substances in pressurised systems (vessels, heat exchanges, reactors, etc.) where there has been the requirement for complex control and commissioning requirements for high integrity safety protective systems to safeguard operators and plant operations.
Jaswinder is experienced in all aspects of process safety including HAZOPs (hazard and operability study), LOPA (layer of protection analysis), fault tree analysis, electrical hazardous area classification, safety integrity levels and risk analysis (including the roles played by mechanical interlocks and safety instrumented systems).
