Stuart Holdsworth is an experienced Chartered Civil & Structural Engineer with a career spanning over four decades. He provides expert opinion and prepares independent reports for all dispute forums including adjudication, arbitration, and litigation. 

Stuart has been engaged in several Technology and Construction Court (TCC) cases, all of which were resolved through settlement, reflecting his adept handling of complex disputes.

His expertise covers concrete structures (prestressed, reinforced, and mass), steel and masonry structures, and geotechnical work, including piling, drainage, design, and investigation. He is experienced in façade systems, temporary works, demolition, site management, contract management, administration, and risk analysis.

Specialising in unconventional structures, he provides expert advice on design and reviews for projects like moveable structures, telecom infrastructure, bridges, sports stadia, and tented membranes. His work includes vibration attenuation and key roles in designing the raised, removable equestrian arenas for the 2012 Olympics in Greenwich Park, the track and field arena at Hampden Park for the Commonwealth Games, and the temporary TV studio for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Earlier in his career, Stuart founded Cameron Holdsworth Associates, leading diverse projects from oil rig demolitions to retail refurbishments. He also held senior roles at Stewart Lyons Partnership and Smallman Construction, managing large-scale developments and pioneering structural systems. His career began at Ove Arup & Partners, where he gained expertise in project engineering and forensic investigations.

His attributes include the ability to think laterally and evolve cost-effective and innovative solutions through detailed analysis of the challenges presented by a case or project.
