Over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry, of which 35 years have been spent providing pre and post contract advice, drafting contracts, negotiating contracts, claims preparation and defence and dispute management services. Tim has supported employers, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants, on a wide range of projects internationally.
Tim has been based in Indonesia, Japan, and Australia, and completed short-term commissions in Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Tim’s experience covers a wide range of engineering projects of the following types: power stations (including nuclear), chemical and process plants, gas and water pipelines, gas installations, oil refineries, offshore oil exploration, steel plants, ports and harbours, dredging, shipbuilding and ship repair.
As a Quantum Expert Witness, Tim has received 37 appointments in arbitration and litigation and has been cross-examined in respect of 9.
Tim has lectured extensively on all matters in relation to construction law and in-house forms of contract. He has considerable knowledge and experience of all the main contract standard forms including the JCT, NEC, ICE, IChemE, MF1/MF2 and the FIDIC suites of contracts.
He has also written occasionally for the Cost Engineer, QS Week, Construction Law Review and other publications.
