Carl has over 25 years’ experience within the building and civil engineering industries. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a Master’s Degree in Construction Law and is a visiting lecturer for the Institution of Civil Engineers, West Midlands Branch, for its law and contract procedure course. Carl specialises in commercial management, construction contracts and claims analysis and undertakes expert witness commissions, predominantly in matters of quantum. Carl also has extensive experience in the provision of services for the preparation, prosecution and defence of claims through adjudication and arbitration.He has employed both his technical and contractual knowledge of the building and civil engineering industries to advise and assist with strategies for resolution of disputes of various projects, which include energy, airports, off-shore wind, healthcare, utilities, remediation, highway works, education, leisure and mix use developments.Carl has also completed numerous non-contentious commissions preparing due diligence advice in connection with live and post completion projects, providing pre and post contract quantity surveying duties and helping teams assessing and targeting different types of business for possible acquisition.
